Discalibur History
Discalibur Disc Golf Club is a Florida not for profit organization formed to promote and grow the sport of disc golf in Brevard County and the State of Florida. Originally formed in 1990 with the installation of the Disc Golf course in Wickham Park, Melbourne Florida. DDGC became a not for profit in 2005 to better work with the Brevard County Parks and Rec Department as a Rec Partner. Our membership helps maintain the disc golf courses at Wickham Park, Melbourne,FL and F Burton Smith Park, Cocoa,FL. Discalibur has helped to fundraise and install the courses in Malabar and Fred Poppy park as well. Discalibur has also worked with the PDGA to run many sanctioned events over the last two decades, and will host the 30th annual Melbourne Open next year.
Rockledge Florida host its own bit of Disc Golf History. The site of the 2nd ever disc golf course in the State of Florida was built in Rockledge, FL off of Barnes Rd in 1978. The Course was sold and moved to a property on Murrell Rd.
We are now currently involved with bringing the sport of disc golf to the Brevard school curriculum. We have donated countless equipment to Brevard public schools in 2019, and we expect to continue to do so in the future.
Club Mission
DDGC mission is to help grow the sport of disc golf within the community and bring awareness to the sport. #growthesport
